I believe that students should always be led by example- if they see I am passionate about what we are doing in the classroom, they are more likely to grab the bull by the horns and embrace learning as an experience rather than a chore! The one thing I am most excited about is the opportunity to be involved in extra curricular activities! During my internship I was able to co direct, choreograph and produce the musical with my Fabulous cooperating teacher! Musical theatre combines so many of my passions all together, and in a school setting being involved with extra curricular allows you to get to know your students and other students you otherwise would not have the opportunity to teach on another level!
Teaching is a career that not everyone is made to do, but I believe I am cut out for the job with my boundless passion and energy! I enjoy getting to know new people and making connections! An important skill for any teacher to possess.
In my spare time I like to stay very busy! I work as an Esthetician at a spa, I coach cheerleading and dance teams at high schools and elementary schools, and I also coach competitive gymnastics at a gymnastics club! Cheerleading, dancing and gymnastics are all things I grew up doing and I enjoy being able to continue doing them in any capacity! I was a part of the University cheerleading for my first 4 years of university, where I met phenomenal friends, and had great opportunities to travel and compete. I have been involved with the Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association for several years now, as both a board member and a certified judge! A few years ago we began the process in getting Cheerleading inducted to Sask Sport as an official sport in Saskatchewan and we were successful! I was proud to be a part of something that meant so much to me, that will go down as a part of Sport History in Saskatchewan!
That's all for now!
If you don't like where you are, change it. You're not a tree.
